A letter from Jon Angel
(descendent of Anna Maria Bearne)

Dear All

I am Jon Angel,

Googling on the Bearne name many months ago I encountered Paul's site, and learned that my sister Elizabeth had contributed information about our Bearne connection through our great grandmother (father's father's mother in the case of 6 of us)

I think our great grandmother Hannah Maria Bearne, b. 1850 d. 1934, wife of Samuel Angel; should actually be spelled " Anna". I think my father misspelled the name on some papers in his archives.

Recently I looked through a file my father collected, Notes for a biography of his father, the ecclesiastic sculptor John Angel (6th child of Samuel Angel and Anna Maria Bearne) I found there a photo that I believe includes John Angel's parents.

My father's notes on the back of the photo say " 1926? Time of Bridgewater War Memorial unveiling? Grandad's Grandma's 50th anniversary?" John Angel is on the left, and I'm virtually certain Anna Maria Bearne Angel is in the middle, Samuel Angel on the right.

I also found a listing of all of Samuel and Anna's children. And finally a very catty letter from John Angel's older sister Annie Pithers discussing the Bearne family tree.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have, and to supply more information as I find it in papers and photos from my parents' house.
