is a hobby web site, set up as a family resource. We do not have a deep knowledge of genealogy and we are aware that there are some glaring anomalies in some of the information we have been given - hopefully over time and with input from other family members, some of these will be resolved. This is part of the purpose of the site.

We in no way endorse or guarantee the references or sites listed and no unfavourable inference should be drawn from a perceived failure to include any resource not listed.

Confidentiality and Security

It is important to note that the Internet is not a completely secure environment. All communication will, as far is is practically possible, be treated in a confidential manner. Data provided (e.g. e-mail addresses) will not intentionally be released to other parties or published on the web without permission.

However, it is part of the site's purpose to collect family tree information. Therefore, if you send us details of your branch of the family, we will assume that it is OK to publish these unless you tell us otherwise. We do not publish birth dates of those living to the web within the family tree programme and we will only place pictures of anyone living on the site with their permission.

We are using 'cookies' to identify repeat visitors so that we can automate their use of the site based on information they have previously given. This makes the site more interactive and, hopefully, more fun to use. We are not using them to track visitors in any way.

Site Ownership and Funding

This web site, , is privately owned and funded by Paul Bearne and his partner, Gina Dennis. We offer other Bearnes the opportunity to have a e-mail address and ask for a donation of £20 for this service (see e-mail). This is not intended as a commercial venture, but merely as a means of covering some of the costs involved in building and hosting a web site .

The site also has the capacity to generate a small amount of income through its affiliation to the Amazon.co.uk and Legacy associates programmes. When you click through to either of these from and make purchases, we receive commission. Again, this is set against site costs. We have not to date made any profit, nor do we expect to! But please, if you are buying books or genealogical programmes on-line, help us cover our costs by clicking through from - it won't cost you any extra, but it will help us!
