Notes:
Subscriptions - This is the money paid by various Bearnes for the provision of e-mail forwarding or POP 3 mail accounts as referred to on the site home page. This is the main source of funding that enables us to run and to keep working on the site.
Commission - Whenever any of you link to the Amazon site from Add Bearne.com to your Favorites and buy your books, videos, DVDs or CDs there or to the Legacy Family Tree site and buy the programme, we receive a small amount of commission which we put towards site costs. Many thanks to all who have used this route.
Programmes - The programmes we have charged to the site are Legacy and Tree Maker (used to draw the graphical tree), the family tree programmes we are using. These are one-off purchases, although there will presumably be upgrades. We have already upgraded once, for which we were charged £6.55 (included in the programme costs shown above).
Costs for 2001 Onwards - www.bearne.com is the base account for my hosting services and though we show a loss here, we do make a small amount of money with web hosting over-all. But we ideally need to recruit some new Add Bearne.com to your Favorites e-mail address users to continue to cover our costs. Should we receive any money over and above this key cost, it will either be banked to cover the next year's hosting or used to purchase programmes or expertise to improve the site.
